The Spring Festival

Dear Peter,

I’ve received your letter, knowing that you have a passion for the Spring Festival. It will be my honor to introduce it to you.

Scheduled on the first day of January in accordance with the lunar calendar, its importance can be seen without any difficulty. It is a time when various activities are held. Traditionally firecrackers are set off, in order to express people’s welcome to the New Year. A get-together banquet is also a must, making every Spring Festival a sweet memory.

The traditions of Spring Festival originated from a story about defending ourselves against a monster called Nian. However, as time passed, it became more about thankfulness and our best wishes for each other. The happiness it creates is beyond words. Only when you experience it yourself can you know how charming it is. So why not come to China to celebrate it during the winter holiday?
